Manage your Startup Programs.
By simply managing your start up programs and services, you can speed up your PC performance considerably. This adjustment should affect booting up your CPU access time and your internet speed. Following the steps below to speed up computer access time by micromanaging your startup programs and services.

1. Open your Start menu
2. Click Run
3. In the command screen type "msconfig.exe"
4. In the "system configuration utility",
click either "service" or "startup" tab
5. Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.
6. Click "OK"

Windows Time
Wireless Zero Configuration (for wireless networks)

If you want a defrag software tool. A registry cleaner is a great piece of software that will perform a defrag regularly and optimize your PC for performance and speed. 

However, be careful to not uncheck any vital programs that could halt your PC startup. If this happens just simply restart your computer in "Safe Mode" and re-enable the program and services. Also remember to close all applications. Open applications are will not get defragmented

1. Start
2. Click Run
3 .Type Regedit then click Ok
4. Find HKEY_CURRENT_USERcontrol PanelDesktop
5. Select MenuShowDelay
6. Right click and select Modify
6. Reduce the number to around 100

Speed up Application load times-- Trouble shooting a slow computer can be done by cutting down on Application load time by using a faster access variable.
1.      Click Start
2.      Click Run
  3.   Type regedit

4.Change the value of EnablePrefetcher, from its default setting of which is 3 to 5,and then restart your computer.
